Over the years

NSA WESTERN NATIONALS CHAMPIONS! The El Segundo Eagles 2023 season started slow as we worked through the adjustment to 14U and ended the summer and year with the girls playing the best softball in the team’s history. We played 93 games. We have built a resilient bunch of girls who bring their best every time they touch the field. Enjoy the highlights which include a trip to Fort Collins, CO for the Sparkler, several tournament championships, winning the National Softball Association Southern California State and Western Nationals championships. The wins are great accomplishments but the true value of our time together is the bonding and memories that we built together…check it out! 

The El Segundo Eagles 2022 season was a huge success!  We played 85 games (65-17) and earned our way to the 12U Western National Championships. The team dedicated their performance at Nationals to Coach Steve’s sister who was killed in 2020.  

Post Nationals, we jumped into 14U and enjoyed the challenge of playing the older girls. The Eagles were tested time and time again and they just kept on going forward all year! It was fun to watch. Enjoy some of the highlights!

El Segundo 12U Eagles had an impressive 105 games in the last year and a half, including 6 tournament championship games with 4 victories. Despite facing obstacles of the pandemic, the team held up its strength and travelled over 10,000 miles together without any home games due to restrictions. Temperatures ranged from minimum 27 to maximum 115 degrees. But, what makes the coach the proudest is seeing the team's growth and the bond they share. This team is special with incredible kids, parents, families, and coaches creating an amazing softball village. Looking forward to another great year in 2022 as the journey together continues!

El Segundo 14U All Star Eagles were the most successful girls softball team in organization's 50-year history, despite losing to Bonita Valley during the Western States National Championship game on August 6, 2017. The journey towards accomplishment was memorable filled with personal growth for these 14 young women who learned the essence of playing team sport – having fun with friends, selflessness, grit, confidence, and respect for the game, teammates, and opponents. Without the pressure of over-coaching, the players learned to rely on their true competitive spirit to guide them towards success. The road had its share of defeats and setbacks, but with hard work and respect for each other on and off the field, they turned into the winning team they are today!
